Leather Balm
Boot Care QUIDE
Boot Care Guide
Included with your boots: a neutral leather balm tin for conditioning and light weather protection.
What it does: nourishes full-grain leather, keeps it supple, and restores a soft, natural sheen. Color may deepen slightly — this is normal.
Test first: on a hidden area. Apply a tiny amount, wait 10 minutes, and confirm you like the result before treating the whole boot.
Quick routine (5–10 minutes)
- Brush boots clean (dust and grit off seams and welt).
- Wrap a soft cloth around two fingers and pick up a pea-size of balm.
- Work it in with small circles — very thin, even coat. Less is more.
- Pay attention to flex points and seams; avoid the outsole and laces.
- Let the leather rest 3–10 minutes.
- Buff to a soft glow with a horsehair brush.
How often
Light wear: every 6–8 weeks or when leather looks dry or dull.
Heavy use: every 2–3 weeks. Do not over-condition.
After rain/snow
Air dry away from heat, stuff with paper to hold shape, then apply a light coat once fully dry.
Do / Don’t
- Do use on smooth full-grain leather.
- Don’t use on suede or nubuck — brush and use a suede eraser only.
- Don’t apply thick layers or heat the leather to “speed it up.”
Storage: keep the tin closed, cool, and clean. A little balm goes a long way.

Use on full-grain leather. Test first. Not for suede or nubuck.
How often should I use it?
Light wear every 6–8 weeks; heavy wear or wet weather every 2–3 weeks.
